Where ancient forests breathe, rivers sing, and the Bengal tiger rules in silence — step into nature's most extraordinary theatre.
From the roar of waterfalls to the whisper of ancient temples, every corner of Corbett holds a story. These are the unmissable experiences near Selva Corbett Resort.
Jim Corbett National Park — established in 1936 as Hailey National Park — was India's first national park and remains one of its most celebrated. Spanning over 520 sq km, the park shelters more than 200 tigers and a staggering diversity of wildlife.
The park's varied ecosystems — dense sal forests, open grasslands, rivers, and marshlands — create habitats for elephants, leopards, sloth bears, otters, and over 650 bird species, making every safari a unique encounter.
November to June offers the best wildlife sightings. The dry season (March–June) draws animals to water sources, making tiger sightings far more likely. Monsoon months see partial closures.
All safari zones require advance permits issued by the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Dhikala zone permits sell out weeks ahead — book early through our resort concierge.
The Bijrani and Jhirna zones are particularly renowned for birdwatching. Look for great hornbills, crested serpent eagles, pied kingfishers, and the elusive ibis at dawn.
Our resort is 8 km from Ramnagar. We offer curated day excursions to all major attractions — temple visits, museum tours, waterfall treks, and guided safari bookings.
Golden hour — the hour after sunrise and before sunset — delivers the most dramatic wildlife photography. Bring a 400mm+ telephoto lens. Avoid noise and sudden movements.
Return to Selva after a day of exploration. Our bonfire evenings, riverside stargazing decks, and open-air restaurant extend the experience of Corbett beautifully into the night.
Let us curate your Corbett experience — from sunrise safaris to temple trails, every moment in nature is waiting.
